“Ring of Fire [Volcano] Earthquake and India”

The Ring of Fire is a major area in the Pacific Ocean basin where many earthquakes and volcanic eruptions occur regularly. Due to the ring shape and constant earthquakes and hot volcanoes, the area is named Ring of Fire.

Historically, 90% of the world's earthquakes and 81% of the world's largest earthquakes have been directly/indirectly caused by the Ring of Fire.

If you look carefully at Image A, you can see the Ring of Fire and the adjacent Indo-Australian tectonic plate, and all of northern and northeastern India lying on the boundary between that tectonic plate and the Eurasian tectonic plate.

Image B: The Northern India boundary on the Indo-Australian & the Eurasian Tectonic Plate.

Image C: The big & powerful Indo-Australian plate, which is a main part of the Ring of Fire, has been subducting the Eurasian plate with great force over the past few years.

This is why the height of the Himalayas is increasing by at least 4 inches every year. This is a very alarming bell. This needs careful attention, because the two huge Tectonic Plates on whose borders, total Northern India is situated are not sitting still or silent but are colliding with each other from top to bottom. At some point, this stress or pressure will explode and result in a great earthquake. Let us all pray to avoid loss of life along with such massive property.

Let's see the answers…

[A] Does the dangerous Ring of Fire have anything to do with India? What exactly will it be?

As written above, 90% of the world's earthquakes and 81% of the world's largest earthquakes are directly/indirectly caused due to the Ring of Fire. A careful look at Image B shows that there is a huge Indo-Australian tectonic plate situated on the significant portion of the Ring of Fire. While entire Northern India lies largely on the Indo-Australian Tectonic Plate. At the same time, the total Northern India is situated on the dangerous border of Indo-Australian (Indian + Australian 57,900,000 sq. km) and The Eurasian (Europe + Asia 67,800,000 sq. km) Tectonic Plates.

The area of India is 3,287,259 square kilometers. The area of the Eurasian tectonic plate is 20.63 times that of India while the area of the Indo-Australian tectonic plate is 17.61 times that of India. From this we can easily get an idea of how huge these two Tectonic Plates are.

The whole North India i.e. Jammu and Kashmir with its capital Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Bihar, Sikkim, West Bengal, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Tripura, Mizoram, Manipur etc all states are situated on the dangerous boundary line of these two Tectonic Plates which are huge and dangerous because of their size and colliding with each other. [See Image B].

This means, not only the Capital Delhi, but all the states mentioned are hyper-earthquake prone. The National Disaster Management Authority of India has announced and published this information. They should give importance to retrospective measures to avoid losses, if they don't want time to touch their heads later...

If we look at the history behind all this, where today both the Eurasian and Indo-Australian Tectonic Plates are located, 4-5 million years ago there was a sea called Tethysa between these two Tectonic Plates. At the bottom of that sea was a tectonic plate called Shirodha. That is, in the past there were altogether three different Tectonic Plates. The relatively small Shirodha plate was subducted beneath between both the Eurasian and Indo-Australian Tectonic Plates collision, 4-5 million years ago. Later, the huge Indo-Australian and Eurasian plates collided with each other created a huge pressure. [Till date the collision exists] After the pressure limit was reached, the Tethysa Sea in the upper part of the Shirodha Tectonic Plate was lifted up and the Himalayan Mountains were formed in place of the Tethysa Sea.

Another meaning of this is that where the Himalayas are now, there used to be a sea called Tethysa. Another implication is, the Shirodha Plate, which was subducted under the Himalayan Mountains, still exists under there with huge stress.

[B] What future problems can India face due to the Ring of Fire and collision of Tectonic Plates??

Another very important thing that the researchers noticed is the powerful Indo-Australian Tectonic Plate, which forms the major part of the Ring of Fire, has been intruding the lower side of the Eurasian Tectonic Plate with great force continuously for the last few years. This is why the height of the Himalayas is increasing by at least 4 inches every year.

Where these two big Tectonic Plates collide [See images B & C], tremendous stress/pressure is building up. Researchers say that when this stress or pressure limit is exceeded, a huge earthquake like the one that happened [8 to 9 Richter Scale] during the formation of the Himalayas will happen again in that area i.e. at the Himalayan Mountains and the region. It will cover the entire Northern India. There will be a lot of damage at the epicentre of the earthquake. Accordingly, there will be some degree of loss at places away from the central location.

According to researchers, if an earthquake of magnitude 8 to 8.5 occurs in the Himalayas in the near future, it will affect Nepal, Afghanistan, Waziristan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, China including Capital of India Delhi and the entire North India including all states [see image B]. Along with the capital Delhi, Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Bihar, Sikkim, West Bengal, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Tripura, Mizoram, Manipur are all high earthquake prone states.

Aftershocks of about 6 to 6.5 Richter Scale will occur in Delhi and the entire North India region. Generally, in this area, the good buildings are constructed with RCC Design, to withstand a shock of maximum 5 Richter Scale. It is also when very good quality construction work is done. But these constructed buildings will not survive a shock of magnitude 6 Richter Scale.

Note carefully, the impact is approximately 10 to 14 times greater when a shock of 6 Richter Scale is struck instead of a shock of 5 Richter Scale. Let us give a simple example... If any worker is lifting a sack weighing 50 kg on his head, what will happen to him when a sack weighing 500 kg or 700 kg is placed on his head? Such a large impact or the shock of an earthquake of 6 Richter Scale instead of 5 Richter Scale will shake the buildings. Just imagine what will happen. That is why buildings that can withstand a magnitude 5 Richter Scale earthquake will not be able to withstand or sustain a magnitude 6 Richter Scale earthquake, which is 10 to 14 times larger. The buildings will collapse like playing cards houses. As an Expert/Inventor/Scientist in this subject, it is my job to bring this matter to everyone's attention in advance and I am doing it.

Meaning is, even though it is not possible to say exactly where the epicentre of an earthquake in the Himalayas will be, Capital Delhi and the entire North-India region are very dangerous in terms of earthquakes. Adequate measures should be taken in advance to prevent or minimize potential damage. Remember "Prevention is always better than Cure!"

[C] Can loss of property/life caused by a disaster be prevented??? Is there any solution for this or not???

No one can accurately predict [time, date, strength] of a sudden earthquake or any disaster or any calamity or prevent that disaster/calamity too. Instead of blaming God, misfortune and fate, people who survived it should try to plan carefully and retrospectively to reduce to the great extent the potential loss of life and property caused by the disasters.

For this, in the beginning, when we get the information that an earthquake or other disaster may occur in our area, we must take preventive measures in future.

Nothing can be done when there is an actual earthquake or any disaster occurred. So you should show wisdom and take care in advance...

As previously written, earthquakes, landslides, floods and storms cause large-scale collapse of buildings and major property damage and catastrophic loss of life. Hence during constructing the buildings/structures, their strength, durability and sustainability must be increased to a great extent, so that buildings/structures will not collapse easily. That is, if such a robust construction is done with the help of an Approved Technology, potential loss of property and life can be avoided to a large extent. Use of it not only reduces personal loss but also the loss of national wealth too. This is most important.

It is not the intention of this article to scare people but our main intention is to awaken and alert people along with all concerned Government Agencies. During the earthquakes in Killari and Bhuj, when I went to do social service, I picked up dead bodies with broken limbs. Even today, when I remember those incidents, I get goosebumps. From that, We started working to contribute to the extent of my experience in the construction field to prevent the personal loss of people as well as prevent the national wealth.

We invented "Earthquake Proof Construction Technology" with my Architect son and filed this Technology for Patent with the Intellectual Property, Government of India and also with WIPO [World Intellectual Property Organization]. WIPO published our research on 1st June 2017. The Controller of Patent, IP, India has granted our Technology Patent. [IP, Patent No. 429385].

Our core mission is to reduce the damages of property loss of human lives worldwide caused by earthquakes or any other disasters like Land-Slides, Floods, Storms etc.

The technology we have developed, when used in conventional building construction (Old buildings too), greatly increases the strength, durability and sustainability of the buildings to a great extent. For this reason, the IP, Govt of India granted the Patent of ERS Technology to us.

If buildings are constructed using our Technology, it is certain that the buildings will stand strong and sustainably during calamities like earthquakes, landslides, floods and storms, without collapsing easily and thereby greatly reducing the potential loss of property and life.

It’s a “Noble Cause”. We are available for presentations and Webinars/Seminars on our Patented Technology. It is mandatory to make an appointment and fix the time first.
